Three new flower paintings have been added today. They are currently on show at Matakana  Gallery. 

Here goes! I've been asked many times if I have a website for my art. I stumbled across Weebly the other day and thought "Even I could do that!" and here I am! It was incredibly easy to put this website together and I recommend it to everyone.

For most of 2011 I've been working on a new series of work called Natural Disasters. I'm using mis-tinted or leftover house paint from a variety of sources. I hope I am saving some paint from ending up in landfills! The technique I am developing is very different to anything I have done prior and I've had quite a few mini "natural disasters" in the process.

However, on a more serious note, it was the shock of the Christchurch, N.Z. earthquake, the floods in Queensland, Australia, and of course the earthquake that hit Japan at 14:46 JST on Friday, 11 March 2011, and its subsequent devastating tsunami that moved me to respond in paint to all the sad and shocking images and stories that resulted. I have friends and family whose lives were changed by these natural disasters.
